CRP grass was tall where RR and I stopped to call, so we got in the back of the truck for the best vantage
point. RR started a series of wounded rabbit calls while I scanned the brushy sand berm for eyes using
an infrared illuminator to augment the NV device on the moonless night. Then a pair of eyes appeared that
could only belong to a predator. I motioned to RR and he continued to call as the coyote cautiously approached.
When he was within range, I grabbed the spotlight with a red filter and RR grabbed the gun. The eyes finally
lit up and RR nailed him. I yanked the red filter off for a better look and RR put another in him just because he
likes to shoot.
